Back to Work


Program

The Back to work is a European funded Leonardo transfer of innovation project which will be developed from competence assessment and counselling fields developed within the EU projects.


Description

These three individual projects are;

  • Validation of Informal and Non Formal Psycho – Pedagogical Competencies of Adult Educators – VINEPAC, - (Leonardo da Vinci – Thematic action, 2006 – 2008 Project no; RO/06/C/F/TH -84201)- Steps to Validation

  • Continuing Education Designed for Counsellor Working in Adult Education – ACCED (Grundtvig, 2005-2007, 225646-CP-1-2005-RO-Grundtvig-G11) – The training concepts for counsellors.

  • Assessing and validating skills and competencies obtained in family life: Family Competences Portfolio – Famcompass (Grundtvig – Multilateral project, 2007-2009, Project No. 134054-LLP-1-2007-BE-Grundtvig- GMP) – the dimensions of informal learning.

The project will look to support and help back to work counsellors to support their clients who are either returning migrants going back to their own country or low skilled unemployed people to validate their work/ life skills in order for them to gain accreditation of prior learning to support those clients back closer to the labour market.


Target

The direct target Beneficiaries of the project are as follows:

  • Counsellors/staff working in adult education institutions (public/ private)

  • Assessors from the

  • Assessment centres

The indirect target Beneficiaries of the project are as follows:

  • migrants

  • unemployed people

  • low qualified people


Goals

  • to develop the validation and recognition of competences practices as part of counselling services offered by local employment office;

  • improve the counselling services for unemployed and increase the chances of efficient matching on the labour market


Outputs

This will be achieved by;

  • developing a counselling instrument that will facilitate validation of prior learning outcomes in relation with job opportunities

  • enabling counsellors, NGO representatives and assessors to use this instrument;

  • permitting exchange of best practices in the field of validation and counselling for unemployed between the partner countries



Outcomes

  • A survey report regarding counselling and migration, in all partners countries

  • DVD's containing mini clips for raising awareness on problems identified

  • A counselling instrument for helping counsellors to assist the clients and orient them toward the validation process

  • A user guide containing guidelines for counsellors suggesting how to use and apply the instrument

  • A training concept for testing the instrument

  • A mentoring platform
